Sausalito Challenge 2007 commissioned
Redwood to help launch their 2007 America’s
Cup Bid. The Sausalito Challenge 2007 is a San Francisco
based sailing team challenging for the America's Cup
in Valencia, Spain 2007.
The team became famous for its eBay auction which was spearheaded by Tim Prouty of the Sausalito Yacht Club. The final auction on eBay for the exclusive sponsorship package ended with a final bid of $20 million. On December 17th 2004, the membership of Sausalito Yacht Club led by Commodore Marge Bottari unanimously approved the Sausalito Challenge 2007 as its official challenge.
Unfortunately, none of the companies in which the Challenge had been in discussions with could commit in time to support the team’s strong efforts and the dream of fielding a second US team has now come to an end.

The Sausalito Challenge 2007 is a San Francisco based sailing team challenging for the America's Cup in Valencia, Spain 2007. The core team is comprised of key personnel formerly of BMW ORACLE Racing as well as an elite selection of the worlds best America’s Cup sailors and designers. Each member of the team is an intense competitor, driven to win the America’s Cup. The team members have chosen to be part of the Sausalito Challenge because it provides a free-thinking and innovative team environment not normally found in the sport of sailing. The sailing team will be comprised predominantly of US sailors.
